Hi could anyone please help me proof read this text of mine.
“The best escape anyone can have.” This describes the pristine beaches and the tropical terrain of the Solomon Islands. It is approximately 2,000 km to the northeast of Australia and an island of Polynesia. The Solomon Islands has a population of 647,581 (July 2017 est.) people. Yet Solomon Islands standard of living is lower especially compared with Australia.
The standard of living is usually based on economic indicator statistics collected by the Government. Gross Domestic Product per Capita is a common way of evaluating the wealth of a certain country. Money can enable people to purchase goods and services that improve their lives. In the Solomon Islands, the GDP/capita (Gross Domestic Product per Capita) is only US$2100. Compared it to Australia’s GDP/capita of US$47000 in Australia (World Factbook CIA 2015). Unemployment in the Solomon Islands is very high compared to a country like Australia. Job opportunities on the Solomon Islands are very limited and unemployment is at 31.4% (the Global Economy, 2017). Tourism only employs some people but they are usually in lower paying jobs (such as cleaning). Labour force by occupation statistics informs us that a majority of people in the Solomon Islands (75%) are in agricultural works. They would most likely be producing food to eat and sell what they can. People employed in services (20%) like doctors, teachers, bank employees, tourism jobs get paid well (World Factbook 2000 est.).
