Teesha is in the French club. There are 31 students in the club. The French teacher will pick two students at random to guide visiting students from France. What is the probability that Teesha will be picked as a guide? Hint: Teesha must be picked first or second.

You would put 2 over 31 to determine the probability. You would divide 31 by 2 and get 2/31 which doesn't reduce. If you divide 31 by 2 you get .064516129... When you round this, the probability of her being picked is 6%.

Answer: Our required probability that Teesha will be picked as a guide is given by
(2)/(31).

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of students in a club = 31

Number of students will be picked up at random to guide visiting students from France = 2

We need to find the "Probability that Teesha will be picked as a guide " i.e.

\frac{\text{Number of favourable outcomes}}{\text{ Total number of outcomes}}

So, it will be

(2)/(31)

Hence, our required probability that Teesha will be picked as a guide is given by
(2)/(31).
