Explanation:

4x-3y=-1

4x+y=11

$4x = - 1 + 3y \\ x = ( - 1 + 3y)/(4)$

$- 1 + 3y = 11 - y \\ 3y + y = 11 + 1 \\ 4y = 12 \\ y = 3$

$x = ( - 1 + 3 * 3)/(4) \\ x = ( - 1 + 9)/(4) \\ x = (8)/(4) = 2$
