3.14 x 15 = 47.1

22 x 47.1/1 = 1036.2

1036.2 x 1 ft./12 in. = 86.35 ft.

= 86 ft long.

we have been given that

A police officer counted 22 revolutions of a wheel to measure the length of a skid mark. the diameter of the wheel was 15 in it mean radius is 15/2 in.

we have been asked to find how long was the skid mark in length?

As wse know that length of one revolution
=2 \pi r=2* \pi *15/2=15 \pi

So the lngth of 22 revolutions
=22*15 \pi=330 \pi \approx 1037 in
