F(x) = 5x + 7, g(x) = x + 9.

Find f(g(x)).
Can someone please just explain to me how you would go about solving a problem like this? I’m confused.

Hello!

As we are not given an x-value, we are just going to have our answer be written in terms of x.

We want to find the f of g(x). As you can see, the g(x)=x+9. Let's plug this value into the function f to find our answer.

f(g(x))=5(x+9)+7

f(g(x))=5x+52

Therefore, our answer would be f(g(x))= 5x+52

I hope this helps!
