A pack of pencils costs $1.25. The school secretary went to the store, bought some packs of pencils and spent $11.25. Which equation can be used to solve for how many pencils, p, she bought?

A. p+1.25=11.25

B. 11.25-p=1.25

The answer is c because she the pencils cost 1.25 and the p represents the amount of pencils she bought so 1.25 multiplied by p (the number of pencils) gives you 11.25 :)
