a.The record long jump is 349.5 inches. Convert this to meters.
b.The density of a certain solid is measured and found to be 12.68 g/mL. Convert this measurement into kg/L.

a) 349.5 inches = 8.8773 meters

Solution : To convert inches to meters we must know the conversion factor between inches and meters.

1 inch = 0.0254 meter

`(349.5 inches)* ((0.0254 meters))/((1 inch))`

Same units get cancel out , in the above step inches get cancel out and we will get meters.

`(349.5)* ((0.0254 meters))/((1))`

8.8773 meters is the final answer.

b) 12.68 g/ mL = 12.68 Kg/L

We need to convert 12.68 g/mL to kg/L

We will use the conversion factor between g to Kg and mL to L.

1 kg = 1000 g

1 L = 1000 mL

`(12.68(g)/(mL))* ((1 Kg))/((1000g))* ((1000 mL))/((1L))`

Similar units gets cancel out, in the above step 'g' and ' mL' gets cencel out and we will get kg/L.

`(12.68)* ((1 Kg))/((1000))* ((1000))/((1L))`

12.68 Kg/L is the final answer.
