Let w = the width.

If length is 4 more than the width, then Length = 4 + w

35) Nine times the with

9 * w = 9w

36) Half the width

(1/2) * w = (1/2)w = w/2

37) The length

Already solved; it's 4 + w or w + 4. Because it's addition, it doesn't matter which one comes first.

the second 37? Your math teacher can't count?) Nine times the length

9 * (4 + w)

9(4) + 9(w)

36 + 9w

38) 2 less than nine times the width

(9 * w) - 2 = 9w - 2
