Firstly, foil 1/2(4x - 6):
2x-3=3

Next, add both sides by 3:
2x=6

Lastly, divide both sides by 2 and your answer will be
x=3

1/2(4x - 6) = 3

Distribute the 1/2 inside the parentheses.

(2x - 3) = 3

Add 3 to both sides.

2x = 6

Divide both sides by 2.

x = 3
