`(7)/(3) \ or\ 2.33333...` and I will show you how to solve for it.

`3x-5=2\\\\{Add\:}5\mathrm{\:to\:both\:sides}\\3x-5+5=2+5\\\\Simplify\\3x=7\\\\\mathrm{Divide\:both\:sides\:by\:}3\\(3x)/(3)=(7)/(3)\\\\\mathrm{Simplify}\\x=(7)/(3)`

And thats why the answer is
`(7)/(3)`, but if you use a calculator to divide 7 by 3 you will get 2.33333... as a answer as well
