b) 7.2cm x 4cm = 28.8 cm^2

c) 3cm x5.4cm = 16.2cm^2

d) area of EFGH/are of TUVW --> 28.8/16.2

Answer:

Explanation:

Given are two pictures of rectangle EFGH to TUVW.

A) scale factor = 4;3 (since the side of TUVW is 4/3 times of sides of EFGH0

B) Area of EFGH =
7.2(4) = 28.8 cm^2

C) Area of TUVW =
5.4(3) = 16.2 cm^2

D) Ratio of their area =
(28.8)/(16.2) =(16)/(9)

E) we find that the ratio of areas is (4/3)^2 i.e. side proportion square.
