3(2x - 2) - 12 + x

First distriubte 3 to both 2x and -2

3(2x) = 6x

3(-2) = -6

6x - 6 - 12 + x

Simplify. Combine like terms

(6x + x) + (- 6 - 12)

7x - 18

7x - 18 is your answer

hope this helps
