7+x/5=-4 what does x equal

Note the equal sign. What you do to one side, you do to the other.

Do the opposite of PEMDAS.

Subtract 7 from both sides

x/5 + 7 = -4

x/5 + 7 (-7) = -4 (-7)

x/5 = -11

Next, to isolate the x, multiply 5 to both sides

x/5(5) = -11(5)

x = -11(5)

x = -55

-55 is your answer for x.
