So firstly, we have to find the LCM, or lowest common multiple, between the two denominators. In this case, the LCM of 6 and 12 is 12. Multiply 5/6 by 2/2 and 1/12 by 1/1.

(5)/(6) *(2)/(2)= (10)/(12) \\ \\ (1)/(12) *(1)/(1) =(1)/(12)

Next, add the two fractions together:

(10)/(12)+ (1)/(12) =(11)/(12)

In short, your answer is 11/12.
