Question 1:

A large circular pizza that is divided into eight equal slices.

Circumference of a whole pizza (circle) =
2\Pi r

Since a pizza is divided into 8 equal parts.

So, circumference of 1 part =
(2\Pi r)/(8) =
(\Pi r)/(4) inches

The measure of outer edge of the crust of one piece = 5.5 inches.

(\Pi r)/(4) = 5.5

r = (5.5 * 4)/(\Pi )

r = (22)/(\Pi )

r = 22 * (7)/(22)

r = 7 inches

Therefore, diameter = 2r = 2
* 7 = 14 inches.

Question 2:

Given length = 15 in

Breadth= 4 in

height = 5 in

We have to determine the surface area of rectangular prism.

Surface area of rectangular prism =
2 * (lb+bh+hl)

=
2 * ((15 * 4)+ (4 * 5) + (15 * 5))

=
2 * (60+ 20 +75)

= 2
* 155
in^(2)

= 310
in^(2)

So, the surface area of rectangular prism is 310
in^(2).
