For the function F defined by F(x)=x2−2x+4, find F(2b−1).

So firstly, replace x with 2b-1:
f(2b-1)=(2b-1)^2-2(2b-1)+4

Next, do the multiplications and the exponents:
f(2b-1)=4b^2-4b+1-4b+2+4

Next, combine like terms and your answer will be:
f(2b-1)=4b^2-8b+7
