Pia sewed 7 skirts. She needed
(2)/(5) yards of fabric for each skirt. To find the total amount of fabric she used, multiply the amount for 1 by how many she sewed in all.

That means you have to multiply
(2)/(5) by 7

(2)/(5) * 7 = (14)/(5) \rightarrow 2 (4)/(5)

She used a total of
2 (4)/(5) yards of fabric

Hope this helps! :)

To solve this, we need to multiply 7 and 2/5.

7 = 7/1

2/5 = 2/5

7 x 2 = 14

1 x 5 = 5

= 14/5

Simplifying 14/5 . . .

14/5 = 2 4/5

Pia used 2 4/5 yards of fabric.

I hope this helped! :)
