3(x-2)=12

Distribute :
3x-6=12

Add 6 to both sides to isolate the x variable
3x-6=12
+6. +6
3x=18

Divide by 3
(3x=18)÷3

X=6

3(x - 2) = 12

Distribute 3 inside the parentheses.

3x - 6 = 12

Add 6 to both sides.

3x = 18

Divide both sides by 3.

\boxed {x =6}
