3/4p - 2 = 7

Add 2 to both sides.

3/4p = 9

Divide both sides by 3/4 to isolate the variable p.

p =
\boxed {12 }

Here is the equation:

(3)/(4)p - 2 = 7

Switch the equation around and it becomes:

7 + 2 = (3)/(4) p \\ 7 + 2 = 9 \\ \\ (3)/(4)p = 9

The sign changes. At first you were subtracting, and now you're adding. Divide both sides by
(3)/(4) to leave the variable alone.

(3)/(4) p / (3)/(4) = p \\ \\ 9 / (3)/(4) = 12

That means p = 12
