Area of triangle ABC = 1/2 x 15 x 12 = 90

Area of triangle ACD = 1/2 x 15 x 6 = 45

Lets area of triangle ACE = x

If area of triangle ABE = p then p = 90 - x

If area of triangle CDE = q the q = 45 - x

p - q = (90 -x) - (45 - x)

p - q = = 90 - x - 45 + x

p - q = = 45

Answer

p - q = 45 square units

Let area of triangle AEC = x

Area of triangle BAC = 1/2 * 15 * 12 = 90

Area of triangle DCA = 1/2 * 15 * 6 = 45

90 = p + x and

45 = q + x Subtracting the 2 equations:-

90 - 45 = p - q

Answer p - q = 45
