This is probably a really stupid question.. but the slope intercept form is y=mx+b. What happens (or what do I do) when I get a minus sign instead of a plus sign? For example: y=mx-b. Did I do something wrong?

(In case anyone wanted to know my problem was 0.5x+y=-2 and I had to convert it into the slope intercept form, y=mx+b )

I don’t there is any problem. The y-intercept is negative and the gradient is also negative

the intercept is below the x axis. instead of
y=mx-b, read it as y=mx + -b
