x²=3x+3
x²-3x-3=0. have to get 0 on right first
identify a,b,c. a is 1, b is -3, c is -3
now plug in to the quadratic formula...
x = -b±√(b²-4*a*c) / 2a
x = -(-3) ± √((-3)²-4*1*(-3)) / (2*1)
x= 3 ± √(9- -12) / 2
x=( 3 ± √21) /2
