Hello!

Let's set this up as a proportion.

(kg)/(lbs) =(1)/(2.2) =(8)/(lbs)

First of all, we see that to get 1 to 8 we multiply by 8, so we could multiply 2.2 by 8 to find lbs.

2.2(8)=17.6

We could also cross multiply, giving us the equation below.

17.6= lbs

As we had a one, our answer is already in our equation.

Therefore, 8 kilograms is equal to 17.6 pounds.

I hope this helps!
