2/3[8(5-2)^2 +3*2]
How do I distribute the 2/3? And then solve the rest!

To distribute the 2/3, this is what you do.

2/3[8(5-2)^2 + 3*2] = (2/3)(8)(5-2)^2 + (2/3)(3*2) =

Now you can continue. You need to follow the correct order of operations.

= (2/3)(8)(3^2) + (2/3)(6)

= (2/3)(8)(9) + 4

= (2/3)(9)(8) + 4

= (6)(8) + 4

= 48 + 4

= 52

This is how I would have done it.

2/3[8(5-2)^2 + 3*2] =

= 2/3[8(3)^2 + 6]

= 2/3[8 * 9 + 6]

= 2/3[72 + 6]

= 2/3[78]

= 2 * 1/3(78)

= 2 * 26

= 52
