The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is 2length + 2width

Since we already have the Perimeter and we have to find the width, the formula would be:

35.6=2*12 + 2x, Now lets solve for X.

35.6=24+2x, subtract 24 from both sides

11.6=2x, now divide both side by 2.

x=5.8

Hence, the width of the rectangle is 5.8ft

Hello!

The perimeter is all of the side lengths added up. The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is shown below.

2w+2L=P

Let's plug our values into the equation.

2w+2(12)=35.6

2w+24=35.6

Let's subtract 24 from both sides.

2w=11.6

We divide both sides by 2.

w=5.8

Therefore, our width is 5.8 feet.

I hope this helps!
