If 56 ounces cost $4
We calculate how much an ounce costs by dividing 4 to 56

1 ounce costs : 4:56 = 0.071 cents

So 64 ounces at 0.071 cents per ounce is :

64 * 0.071 = $4.57

Make a proportion.

(4)/(56) = (x)/(64), where x is the amount you would need to pay for 64 ounces of ice cream.

Cross multiply.

56x = 256

Divide both sides by 56.

x = 4.57

You would have to pay $4.57 to get 64 ounces of ice cream.
