we are given

2x+6=6x-2

we will isolate x

so, firstly we will move all x terms on any one side

We will add both sides 2

2x+6+2=6x-2+2

2x+8=6x

now, we can subtract both sides 2x

2x+8-2x=6x-2x

8=4x

4x=8

now, we can divide both sides by 4

and we get

x=2......Answer
