~PLEASE HELP ASAP OFFERING 12 POINTS~

Johnson Canniver has a repair shop. He bought a used lawn mower for $35.00 from a customer. He spent $39.17 on parts to repair the mower. He also painted and polished the mower at a cost of $36.43. He was able to sell the refurbished lawn mower for $155.00. If it took 4.5 hours to do all the work, how much did he earn per hour to the nearest cent? (Hint: Find the markup on the lawn mower first.)

Use the following equations to help you find your answer

Cost = Selling Price - Markup

Markup = Selling Price - Cost

so if my calculations are right you use the Cost= Selling Price- Markup

which means you take the 39.17+36.43 and that equals 79.4

so then you take 155.00 (Selling Price)-79.4(Markup) and end up getting 75.6

so that means he gets 75.6$

i hope this is right and i hope it helps please correct me if my calculations are wrong in anyway

Answer:

The earning per hour is $9.87

Explanation:

Cost = Selling Price - Markup

Markup = Selling Price - Cost

Johnson bought a used lawn mower for = $35

Amount spent on parts to repair the mower = $39.17

Amount spent on painting and polishing the mower = $36.43

So, total amount spent by him on the mower =
35+39.17+36.43=110.60 dollars

Amount at which he sold the mower = $155

Profit earned =
155-110.60=44.40 dollars

Since, the whole work took 4.5 hours

So, per hour earning is =
(44.40)/(4.5)= 9.866 ≈ $9.87
