9 - 8x = 35

subtract 9 from both sides

-8x = 26

divide both sides by -8

x= -26/8

you can simplify this to -13/4

Here we are given an equation:

9-8x=35

we need to isolate x on the left side.

bring 9 to the right side by subtracting it from 35

-8x =35-9

-8x =26

divide both sides by -8

x=26/(-8)

x=-3.25
