So remember that slope-intercept form is y = mx+b, with m = slope and b = y-intercept. Since we have the slope (1/2), all we need to do is solve for the b variable. To do this, we will replace the x and y variable with (4,3) and place in our slope to solve for b.

Our equation will look like this:
3=(1)/(2)*4+b

Firstly, do the multiplication:
3=2+b

Next, subtract both sides of the equation by 2, and your answer is 1 = b.

To put everything together, your equation is y=1/2x+1
