1 1/6 * 9

____________________________________________________________

Change
1 (1)/(6) to an improper fraction.

Multiply the whole number by the denominator and add the numerator. Your answer will become the numerator and the denominator stays the same.

((1 * 6 + 1))/(6) → 7/6

____________________________________________________________

Make 9 an improper fraction by adding 1 to its denominator (doesn't change its value)

9 → 9/1

____________________________________________________________

Multiply 7/6 * 9/1

(7)/(6) * (9)/(1)

Multiply top and bottom numbers

This would look like:
(7 * 9)/(6 * 1)

(7 * 9)/(6 * 1) =
(63)/(6)
