Given the following diagram, find the missing measures.

m ∠O = m ∠P
m ∠1 = 36°
m ∠O =

a) 36
b) 72
c) 77.5
d) 144

A triangle is 180°, so to find angle O you do 180 = angle 1 + 2 x

x = measure of angle P and angle O

angle 1 = 36

36 + 2x = 180

2x = 144

x = 72

Angle O is equal to B. 72°

m ∠O = m ∠P

m ∠1 = 36°

m ∠O = 1/2(180 - 36) = 72°

Answer: b) m ∠O = 72°
