The art gallery is increasing the asking price of its sculptures by 30%.

Sculpture now costs $520.00

Let the initial price was $x

Then we can write

Let cost of the sculpture before increase was $x.

Cost increases by 30%

so new cost = x + (30% of x) = x+0.30x = 1.30x

Given that cost after increase is $520 so both will be equal and we get:

1.30x=520

x=520/1.30

x=400

So the final answer is $400.
