we are given

total surface area is 256

we can use formula

TA=\pi r^2 +\pi r l

l is slant height

r is radius

we are given

l=3r

so, we can plug it

TA=\pi r^2 +\pi r *3r

TA=4\pi r^2

now, we can plug TA=256

256=4\pi r^2

now, we can solve for r

we get

r=4.51352...........Answer
