Let the original price be $ x .

And it is given that $486 is the 28 % dicounted price. It means 486 is equal to 100 -28=72% of x

That is 0.72 x = 486

Now we need to get rid of 0.72 and for that we divide both sides by 0.72. That is


x= (486)/(0.72) = 675

So the original price is $675 .
