First find the MCM of both fractions:

(1)/(2) + (2)/(3) = (3)/(6) + (4)/(6)

After that do the sum normally:

(3)/(6) + (4)/(6) = (7)/(6) = 1 (1)/(6)

Hope it helped,

Happy homework/ study/ exam!

Here we have to find lcm of 2 and 3 first

lcm of 2 and 3 is 2*3=6

now we convert both denominator into lcm

(1)/(2) +(2)/(3)

(1*3)/(2*3) +(2*2)/(3*2)

(3)/(6) +(4)/(6)

combining numerators

(3+4)/(6)

=7/6
