A transformer has a primary voltage of 480 volts and a secondary voltage of 120 volts. if the primary windings have 700 turns, how many turns are in the secondary windings? (voltage and number of turns are directly proportional.)

Number of turns in the secondary= 175

Step-by-step explanation:

for a transformer

Es/ Ep= Ns/ Np

Es= secondary voltage=120 V

Ep= primary voltage=480 V

Ns= number of turns in the secondary

Np= Number of turns in the primary=700

so 120/480=Ns/700

Ns= 175
