Hannah spends $4.50 each day to buy lunch at her school. After school each day, she buys the same snack. Hannah spends $28.75 for lunch and snacks each week. The equation and solution model the situation. 5(4.50 + x) = 28.75; X = 1.25

What does the solution, X = 1.25 represent?

It is given that she spend $4.50 on lunch each day and she buys same snack. Here x represents the amount spend on the snacks . So 5(4.50+x) represents total amount spend on both lunch and snack for the 5 days which is equal to 28.75 . And on solving for x, the solution is x=1.25 . So Hannah spend $1.25 on snack .
