Is there a chance that the continents will collide at each other and why

Yes,there is.

Although we can not see the movement of plates by our bare eyes,the plates are actually moving slowly towards each other in the destructive plate boundary. Million years and years later, there would be a change where to continential plate collide.

One example currently is that the Eurasian plate and Indo-Australian plate actually collided a million year ago,and they are now plates that are merged together.
