- The River valley civilizations came about because the rivers fertilized the land around it. People gathered around this area and gave rise to trade before even having an established society. The rivers served as trade routes which are very accessible from land. Trade became the central theme to the emergence of the river valley civilization. Meanwhile, the Meso and South American civilizations emerged from small farming villages in the highlands. These villages were blessed with fertile ground highly suitable for agriculture. Society evolved naturally from the basic form of government to the establishment of trade. These emergence of civilizations in these different locations differed widely also because of the variation in topography. Topography plays a major role in the emergence and success of ancient civilizations.
2. What were the main tasks of the Chosen Women of the Inca civilization?

-Women as with other civilizations were in charge of keeping the household and preparing meals. They were much more valuable to society because of the craft of making wool garments for trade. As children, these women were taught how to prepare ritual rites and also how to maintain places of worship.
