Given are 9 cards out of which 3 are Hearts, 3 are Clubs, 3 are Diamonds.
It says to draw 2 cards out of 9 cards, so Sample selection would be 9C2.
Favourable outcome is 2 heart cards, so Favourable selection would be 3C2.
Now the probability would be Favourable selection over Sample selection.

probability = (3c2)/(9c2 ) = ( (3 * 2)/(2 * 1) )/( (9 * 8)/(2 * 1) ) = (3 * 2)/(9 * 8) = (1)/(12)

Hence, option D i.e. 1/12 is the final answer.
