Hey There!

Let's setup.

5x+13 = 12x-8

Subtract 5 as it is lower.

12x - 5x =7x

We now have 7x-8=13

Add 8 on both sides.

13 + 8 = 21

We now have 7x = 21

Divide 7 from both sides.

21/7= 3

Therefore, x would equal to 3.

Hope this helped!

As two arcs are same means both chords would also be same.

5x + 13 = 12 x - 8

Adding 8 on both sides

5 x + 13 + 8 = 12 x - 8 + 8

5 x + 21 = 12 x

Subtracting 5 x from both sides

5x + 21 - 5x = 12 x - 5x

21 = 7 x

Dividing from 7

21/7 = 7x / 7

3 = x : Answer

Hope that will help.
