Please help! Solve the equation -x = 2 - 3x + 3 and describe your steps.

-x = 2 - 3x + 3

Combine like terms 2 and 3 on the right side.

-x = (2 + 3) - 3x

-x = 5 - 3x

Add 3x to both sides (-3x and 3x on the right side cancel).

-x + 3x = 5

2x = 5

Divide by 2 on both sides (This cancels out the 2 in the 2x).

(2x)/2 = 5/2

x = 5/2

Thus, x is equal to 5/2.
