David is a collegiate track athlete, and his friend tony is sedentary and overweight. at a party, they drink the same number of beers at the same rate, and they ate approximately the same amount of food before they started drinking. which factor will account for differences in their blood alcohol concentration?

Since Tony is bigger in body size than David, Tony will not get drunk as fast as David will, regardless of the fact that David is an athlete and that Tony is sedentary. Tony has more fat in his body, so much so that the alcohol would not be so absorbed by the cells. So, Tony would have a higher blood alcohol concentration.
