We know that the burning point is 329F and need to find Celsius. We can use the formula given to convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius by filling in the known value and solving for the unknown.

C = 5/9(F-32)

Fill in the F value.

C = 5/9(329-32)

Subtract 32 from 329.

C = 5/9(297)

Multiply 297 and 5/9.

C = 1485/9

Divide by 9.

C = 165

So, the burning point of the jet fuel in Celsius is 165.

\bf C=\cfrac{5}{9}(\stackrel{F}{329}-32)\implies C=\cfrac{5}{9}(297)\implies C=\cfrac{5(297)}{9}\implies C=5\cdot \cfrac{297}{9}\\\\\\C=5\cdot 33\implies C=165
