First we convert both of the mixed number in improper fraction. That is

`= - (3*9+1)/(9) -(8*3+1)/(3)`

`= - (28)/(9)  - (25)/(3)`

`=(-28-75)/(3) = (-103)/(3)= -34(1)/(3)`
