Reagan had gestured his desire to have an impact on the Supreme Court by making it more conservative during the 1980 presidential campaign it more conservative. He went on to elevate a Chief Justice during his tenure. He also had three nominations of Justices to the court. This includes the appointment of a woman to the Supreme Court
