A family of five people has $200 to spend on fishing rods and fishing licenses. They spend a total of $20 on licenses. Assuming they buy 5 identical rods, what is the maximum amount they can spend on each rod? (Include only numbers, not words or dollar signs, in your answer.)

200-100=100

100(divide symbol) 5 = 20

The amount of money left after spending on the fisihing licenses:
=200-20
=$180

The maximum total amount they spend on fishing rod is $180,and if they buy 5 identical rod,the maximum value of a fishing rod would be:
180÷5
=$36

Here's how you can do it in one equation with no words/dollar sign:

(200-20)÷5
=36

Hope it helps! Sorry for writing a lot but I hope you can understand.
