To an extent it does. For example, media influences such as movies and television shows can use stories to portray characters as happy during certain events. In turn, we begin to associate happiness with what we see in media. For example, if all seen in movies and shows is rich characters happy, then people may begin to associate material wealth with happiness. Music can also shape the way we think as well, as a simple vibration in the air around us is capable of making us cry, laugh, or turnsseenarebreak down. Music may talk about material riches or sexual intercourse as sources of happiness. It may also talk about being in a relationship positively, so we may begin to associate that with happiness. positively

Our parents’ values also shape our beliefs. If parents taught you that a simple life was all you needed and to enjoy the little things, chances are entertainment and happiness come easily. Our friends also shape our views. Your friends may show you happiness is spending time with your friends playing ball, going to an amusement park, or going to a concert.

Of course, you are capable of finding what makes you the happiest, and only you can do that for yourself.
