(3x^2y^2)/(12x)

Divide the top and bottom by 3

(3x^2y^2)/(12x) will become
(x^2y^2)/(4x)

Now take the x² from the top and subtract the exponents with the x on the bottom: x² - x = x

(x^2y^2)/(4x) should become
(xy^2)/(4)

(xy^2)/(4) is your answer

(3x²y²)/(12x)

Divide each number and variable. Note that when you are dividing variables, you are subtracting the powers.

3/12 = 1/4

x²/x = x

Answer: (x(y²))/4

hope this helps
